Deep purple color, which is almost black when good sun exposure is available. The color produced is because of antioxidant compounds, making this super healthy to consume. The flavor is also much stronger than regular red/white/yellow onions. We dry these into a beautiful purple colored powder, that we use in our homemade peri peri masala blend. This varieties grows very well in pune and when grown on raised beds the size is much larger than onions available in markets. The seeds also have a strong onion fragrance and are used as a spice themselves. This has been our go-to onion variety for 3 years now
